Half Baked (1998) documents the efforts of Thurgood Jenkins (Dave Chappelle) and his chronically stoned friends to spring their wrongfully imprisoned friend, Kenny (Harland Williams). They hit upon the perfect plan - steal marijuana from the hospital where Thurgood works and sell it to make the cash needed to spring Kenny. Things get complicated when the local dealer Samson Simson (Clarence Williams II) learns about their cutting in on his turf. Thurgood must keep his shady business afloat as he evades Simson and pursues the ironically named Mary Jane. Will he raise enough money to save Kenny from the horrors of the prison shower? Perhaps, with a little help from his friends.
