Kermit the Frog (Jim Henson), Fozzie Bear (Frank OZ), and Gonzo the Great (Dave Goelz) are newspaper reporters assigned to write a piece on a valuable diamond necklace belonging to fashion designer Lady Holliday (Diana Rigg). The travel to London to interview her, but when Kermit visits her office, he mistakenly thinks that Miss Piggy (Frank Oz), Lady Holliday’s receptionist, is Lady Holliday herself. Miss Piggy plays along with the charade to keep the attention of Kermit. Both ladies attend a dinner, during which Lady Holliday’s necklace is stolen and Miss Piggy is framed for the crime. The real culprit is Lady Holliday’s brother, Nicky (Charles Grodin) who is planning to steal and even bigger treasure, the Baseball Diamond. Can the Muppets clear Miss Piggy’s name and capture the true thief?
